I’m Rose and I was born in São Paulo, Brazil and raised on the shores of
this incredible state. My passion for travelling started when I was old enough
to travel by myself. I saved all of my money for trips around Brazil initially
and subsequently South America, North America, and Europe.
Now I’ve lived outside of Brazil for more than 30 years and my passion for
travelling hasn’t gone away, it has only got stronger. I live in the UK and
together with my husband we have chosen to make the UK our permanent home.
Since moving here, we have had the opportunity to travel extensively within the
UK and Europe. In the beginning, it was only the two of us, and we were on a
very tight budget. We then travelled with our two children whilst they were
growing up, and since they have flown the nest, we are back to travelling
together as a couple, and sometimes alongside our friends.
So, who am I? Professionally, I’m a Chartered Building Surveyor, and an architectural designer. I’m also a mother, wife and friend. As well as travelling, I love property, architecture, music, films, art, gastronomy, and dogs!
I’ve decided to create “The Travelling Surveyor” because I want to share my travel experiences with other people and perhaps my blogs will give you inspiration whilst you’re choosing a place to go and visit. The aim is to inform, inspire and share my discoveries on the way. I’m an independent traveller and I don’t use tours or packaged holidays. All my trips are planned and researched meticulously by myself.
I have many interests but I particularly focus on history, art, architecture, countryside and food. I will also write about architectural projects or professional articles every now and them.

I will also open this channel to collaborators and guests who feel like sharing their experiences as well. They may be friends, family, or any follower that has something positive to say about these subjects.
I would also like to be clear that everything I write on here is because I have experienced it myself and I will give my honest opinion of the experience.
